| LARRY
D. CROMWELL was
born in 1939 in Dodge City, Kansas where he spent his boyhood
years. He received a good deal of his early education
on the banks of Buckner Creek building his skills of observation
and catching fish. His rural roots and rich boyhood experiences
combine with his love of the outdoors, providing both direction
and inspiration for his art. Previously a junior high
school and college art teacher in Boise, Idaho, Larry also taught
at The University of Calgary, where he taught until his retirement.
He retired with the title ‘Professor Emeritus’
at the end of 1999 after nearly 30 years of teaching at the
U of C, and now continues his teaching through an active schedule
of watercolour and drawing workshops, sharing his enthusiasm
and experience with others. As an artist, Larry feels
his responsibilities go beyond his studio as an advocate for
the arts and as a contributor to the fabric of our society.

| The
Sherwood Park Northstars
Football Club is a Bantam level team associated with the Capital
District Minor Football Association. We are made up of
players from Sherwood Park and surrounding areas. We are
proud of the fact that we are the only Bantam team in Sherwood
Park that does not make player cuts. It is our belief
that at this level of play, any child that wants to learn and
play the game of football should be given the opportunity. Every
Northstar, no matter what size or skill level, will see action
on the football field. It is our policy that football
should be a fun and rewarding experience, whether or not we
win championships. |
